The Wylie Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to gathering, preserving and sharing the heritage of Wylie, Texas.

Our monthly meetings, which are open to the public, offer a range of programming including presentations by guest speakers and artifact displays. We invite you to join us in person to learn more about the history of Wylie and the surrounding region.

Mission Statement

Promote public awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the history and traditions of the City of Wylie and its predecessors through educational programs; collect, preserve, conserve, interpret, and exhibit materials relating to the City of Wylie and its region; preserve and protect buildings and sites of historic interest in the Wylie area; mark places of historic interest with suitable monuments and markers; and serve as a clearing house for other organizations concerned with Wylie area.

Celebrate America250 with the Wylie Historical Society's at our 2026 Patrotic Luncheon

Keynote Speaker: Tracy Lawson author of "Answering Liberty's Call: Anna Stone's Daring Ride to Valley Forge" part of the Ladies of the Revolution historical fiction novel series; and the Liberty Belles youth series.

Special Demo Presentation: "Fashion of Liberty" Jen Thompson will discuss and demonstrate fashion of America’s founding, along with Beth Klimek who will model the layers of 18th Century fashion!
